Martin was previously a table tennis professional, but via a number of fantastic jobs in the voluntary sector, he became CEO of P3, the social inclusion charity, in 2002. In 2007, P3 was voted No1 in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work for list.

The charity provides a range of services to socially excluded people. When Martin started, it had at urnover of £800K, but by 2007 it had become a £6m dynamic, expanding social enterprise, with a growing capital asset base. In 2007, Charity Times gave P3 an award for having the best human resources department.
