“I started off at uni, selling jacket potatoes to football fans as a healthy alternative”
- Daniel Heery

Daniel HeeryName: Daniel Heery
Age: 36
Business: Cybermoor
Role: Project manager
Where: Started in Cumbria

Daniel worked in rural development and regeneration before setting up Cybermoor. The company gives locals in Alston, Cumbria, access to broadband and ICT skills through cheap computers and training. This helps them be more connected to the community and the wider world. It is the first rural broadband co-op in the country.

The company works with SMEs, voluntary and public sector organisations encouraging them to use ICT innovatively. Profits go towards providing affordable broadband for rural residents. Daniel is also developing Alston Healthcare, a NHS Pathfinder Project to deliver e-health services in Cumbria.
